  • Theme: Women in Nuclear – Growth and Global Connection

2. Objectives

The mentoring workshop aims to provide the next generation of nuclear professionals with direct access to experienced global women leaders in the field. Through structured conversations and meaningful exchanges, mentees will gain career insights, motivation, and international networking opportunities.

  • Foster global exchange and solidarity based on diversity and inclusion
    • By facilitating cross-cultural knowledge sharing and connection between young professionals (mentees) and senior-level women experts (mentors) from various countries.
  • Support career exploration and identity building
    • By enabling mentees to better understand diverse career paths in the nuclear field and see themselves as part of the global nuclear community.
  • Promote intergenerational leadership and network sustainability
    • By positioning WiN Global mentors as active role models and advocates, helping to extend leadership capacity across generations and national boundaries.

  • Mentees: WiN Global members, including undergraduate and graduate students as well as early-career professionals
  • Mentors: WiN Global members with senior-level experience in nuclear-related fields, including technical, policy, education, communication, and international cooperation

This Executive Summary outlines the plan for the "Nuclear Synergies" workshop, designed to showcase the diverse technical expertise within WiN Global. Conducted by the Leaders of five of WiN Global's 14 Groups of Expertise, the session aims to showcase those Groups' respective subject areas and provide a platform for knowledge exchange among nuclear professionals.

  • Theme: Nuclear Synergies: Uniting Nuclear Professionals through interactive learning and collaboration
  • Date: 31 March 2026
  • Time: 13:30 – 16:00 (150 minutes)
  • Venue: Room 300A, HICO, Gyeongju, Republic of Korea
  • Target Audience: Conference participants seeking to enhance knowledge in nuclear innovation, small modular reactors, law, security, and safeguards. Each participant will have the opportunity to participate in three of the five Interactive Sessions, based on their areas of interest.

  • Introduce participants to the various technical subject areas within WiN Global's Groups of Expertise
  • Provide opportunities for skill enhancement and professional development through scenario-based learning
  • Establish clear pathways for participants to join and contribute to WiN Global expert groups

  • Materials: Pre-distributed online materials and QR codes for existing resources will be provided
  • Logistics: Room 300A will require table identification (numbers 1-5), 1 microphone, 5 flipcharts, note pads and pens for all participants and 5 screens for results and conclusions
  • Evaluation: Success will be measured via online evaluation forms and post-workshop reflections from group leaders

Parentaly Community Mentorship Workshop (P2CD)

1. Workshop Overview

The Parentaly Community Mentorship Workshop is an interactive, community-driven initiative led by the WiN Global Young Generation (WiN YG), part of the Parentaly Project (P2CD). It addresses the challenge of balancing pregnancy, parenthood, and career development in the nuclear sector by creating a structured space for mentorship, peer exchange, and evidence-based dialogue.

The workshop is designed for early- and mid-career professionals and experienced mentors. Participants engage in facilitated discussions, mentorship exchanges, and interactive activities to share lived experiences, identify support gaps, and co-develop practical insights that contribute to more inclusive and family-friendly professional environments.

The initiative is aligned with the IAEA Gender Equality Policy, the 2023 OECD Recommendation on Improving the Gender Balance in the Nuclear Sector, and the work of the NEA High-Level Group on Improving the Gender Balance in the Nuclear Sector (HLG-GB), bridging global policy commitments with professional realities.
